I Am An Artist 2024 Artist Call Out

We are looking for five creatively curious visual artists, who get excited about new ways of working, like to think imaginatively, and enjoy a challenge.

I Am An Artist

I Am An Artist is the second branch of our three-year I Am A Creator cultural programme and will be part of The Big Draw 2024. I Am A Creator is funded by investment from Arts Council England, through our status as an ACE National Portfolio Organisation.

The Big Draw

The Big Draw has one aim: to get everyone drawing! Why? Drawing helps us to think, invent and communicate – regardless of age and ability.

Held throughout October, the festival aims to bring communities together in fun, creative ways. More than 1,500 venues take part annually across the globe, from nursery schools to national museums.

Inspire leads on The Big Draw for Nottinghamshire and is the Drawing Action Associate for the Campaign for Drawing. We have won two Drawing Inspiration Awards; one for our programme of participation and one for developing a training programme that empowers non-arts professionals to use drawing to achieve their own goals and targets with the groups they work with. We also won the 2020 Community, Participatory and Libraries Award for our Climate of Change project which celebrated the diverse wildlife, important habitats and rich heritage of Sherwood Forest, and we have won the 2021 Community, Participatory and Libraries Award for FACES, PLACES which celebrated our relationship to place and belonging.

Every October, The Big Draw bursts into Inspire Libraries around the county and we work to offer opportunities for individuals and groups to join in with our Big Draw events.
