Join willow artist Katrine Scott-Mitchell in creating natural forms to decorate and enhance the garden at Retford Library.

As part of Retford Library's Places to Connect programme, funded by Libraries Connected and Natural England, willow artist Katrine Scott-Mitchell will guide us in willow-working techniques to create beautiful natural forms which will be installed in the library's community garden.

Throughout the day's workshop, participants will learn to create a variety of pieces that will come together as one larger art-work. This workshop aims to enhance the garden for the community to enjoy, and to give local people the opportunity to try a new skill. Time-permitting, you may also create a small memento to take home.

Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch.

The workshop will take place outside in the garden in fair weather. Please dress accordingly and bring warm clothing/sun protection if required. A room is available inside the library in case of wet or very cold weather.

Limited to 12 participants. Suitable only for adults. It is important that you let us know if you will be unable to attend, so that we can offer available spaces to others on the waiting list.

Some manual dexterity is required but activities will be accessible to all abilities.
