Unity is a Hammond organ quartet in the mode of classic bands from the 1960s playing burning-tempo modal jazz, swinging blues, gospel and Latin-infused grooves on ‘Hip Tunes’ like Moontrane, Loose Foot, Back Up, Snap Back Jack and Do It Now!

Hammond-led jazz outfits of the likes of Jimmy Smith, Larry Young and ‘Big’ John Patton played irrepressible groove-music, leading the way to the soul jazz, fusion and funk of the 1970s.

Unity is a Hammond Quartet in the style of the classic Blue Note Hammond Organ groups from the 60's, covering classic tunes from Larry Young's seminal album of the same name. The band play with fire, energy and burning swing. In this project Matt conjures the exciting Hammond organ swing of Larry Young and serves up some funky grooves as well.

"Nadim's voice on the tenor is thoughtful, melodic, harmonically advanced, and creative. Beautiful!" – Chris Potter

"Sam Dunn is a wonderful musician on all levels. He has a wide, interesting repertoire, beautiful sound, and is equally compelling with ballads and burners. And with his fast ears and quick wit, he's great fun on the bandstand" – Judy Carmichael
