Join us for an evening of Caribbean-influenced jazz originals, performed by Luke Bacchus, BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist 2022 - on piano, Marlon Hibbert steel pan, Nate Ricketts drums and Nathan Dawkins bass.

This young quartet’s infectious playing includes music first performed in London on the 75th Anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush. Jazz is one of many richly diverse ‘soundscapes’ represented in Beyond the Bassline.

Adult event. Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult

While at Beeston Library please find a fascinating taster of the Beyond the Bassline exhibition on show at the British Library in London. The exhibition taster shines a spotlight on different voices and perspectives to celebrate Black British music as a form of entertainment and vehicle for community, as well as a source of liberation, protest and education. Beyond the Bassline draws on different places that have cultivated creative expression and inspired a number of Black British music genres.
