Celebrate knitting, crochet and the amazing generosity of crafters across the county!

See a wall of colourful blankets and all the beautifully knitted and crocheted squares that have been created; displayed together they create an enormous ‘woolly hug’ in Mansfield Central Library gallery!

Inspire: Culture, Learning and Libraries, Your Health Notts, Newark and Sherwood District Council, Dementia Action Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and Creative Lives are supporting crafters to make knitted and crocheted squares into homely warm blankets for people to cherish.

Nottinghamshire knitwear designer Jane Withers has created a striking blanket design to inspire everyone to get creative with wool for a good cause.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who generously donated their time and skills to create over 250 Care Squares blankets and thousands of knitted and crocheted squares.

Total Blankets: 275

At the end of the exhibition all the blankets will be donated to charities supporting people in care and hospital settings.

Can you spare the time to turn one of our Stitch Up Bundles into a finished Care Squares Blanket?

Pick up a bundle from Mansfield Library.  Every completed blanket handed back to the library will be included in our exhibition, and then donated along with all the rest this autumn.
