Wildlife and Conservation (Level 1)

Our Wildlife and Conservation Level 1 qualification will introduce you to a range of habitats and identify the plants and animals from each, and how they are dependent upon one another for survival.

The course is a unit from the Level 1 Award in Exploring Occupational Studies qualification and is intended to be accessible to a wide range of learners of all abilities. 

You will develop a ‘hands-on’ approach to your learning and gain practical skills, knowledge and understanding in this chosen vocational area(s). The skills, knowledge and understanding gained may help you prepare for work through real or simulated work situations and may help prepare you for working life beyond education.

What will we cover?

The topics covered in this course include: 

  • Recognising a range of habitats
  • The energy links between plants and animals.

Who is the course for?

The course is for adults (19+) who would like to learn about wildlife and conservation in their area and beyond, and gain a formal qualification. This may be for employment or for personal interest.

How can I progress after completing the course?

Upon completion of this course you could progress with Inspire to a wide range of Level 1 and 2 qualifications. Please ask us for details.

Course cost

The cost of this course is FREE - £60.75

1) FREE - if you earn less than £25,000 gross salary or are on a means-tested benefit.

2) PAYMENT HELP AVAILABLE - if you earn more than £25,000 (annual gross salary) but are on a low-income, we might be able to help pay part or all of your course fees. Email: learning@inspireculture.org.uk for an application form or if you have any questions.

3) CO-FUNDED - if you are on a higher-income, the government will pay approximately half of your course fees.
