Traineeships (19-24)

Our Traineeships are the first step towards your dream career!

Traineeships are a great way to gain high quality experience in an industry that you are interested in. A traineeship is a skills development programme that includes a significant work experience placement and contains vital training and study to support you to develop your employability skills. It can also help you get your foot into the door of your desired industry, or set you up for further study like an apprenticeship.

We currently offer Traineeship positions in:

Gain experience in all aspects of hospitality and catering, including experience as a:

  • barista
  • bartender
  • front of house
  • waiter/waitress
  • and roles in cooking or events.

Location: West Bridgford

Gain experience assisting teaching primary aged children, and children with additional needs.

Location: Bingham

Gain experience in all aspects of childcare as a nursery assistant, caring for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

Locations: Newark, Balderton, and Cotgrave

Gain experience and learn skills in car mechanics, servicing, tyre fitting, and customer services.

Location: Newark

Gain experience as an editor, shadowing reporters and photographers, research, and office administration, as well as learning how to create stories and update a website in this News Assistant role.

Location: Newark

Gain experience in the sports and leisure industries in one of the following roles:

  • Reception services assistant
  • Leisure attendant assistant
  • Fitness instructor assistant
  • Swimming teacher
  • or Gymnastics coach

Locations: Newark, Southwell, Ollerton and Blidworth

Gain experience in coaching football sessions and assisting the teaching of sports qualifications.

Location: Bulwell

Gain experience and skills as a care assistant, working with a wide range of conditions and needs.

Location: Gedling

Learn the basics of the painting trade, such as surface preparation and application of paints to surfaces, with the potential to lead onto a paid, full-time, 3 year apprenticeship.

Location: Stapleford, with transport provided to various sites around Nottingham.

What will you receive?

As a Trainee, you will receive:

  • A high-quality work placement of at least 70 hours.
  • A workplace mentor.
  • Tutor support from Inspire.
  • Flexible hours that suit both you and the employer.
  • The opportunity to work towards a maths and English qualification, should you need them.
  • An Employability Level 2 qualification, upon completion of the course.
  • Bursaries, dependent on age and meeting eligibility circumstances.

Eligibility

To start a traineeship, you'll need to:

  • be eligible to work in England.
  • have little to no work experience, and be unemployed.
  • be aged between 16 and 24, or 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Important information

Traineeships can last from 6 weeks to 1 year, though most last for 6 months or less.

Work placements as part of the traineeship are unpaid; however, you can get support with travel and other expenses, depending on your circumstances.
