Stress Awareness (Level 1)

You can study our Level 1 Stress Awareness qualification online from the comfort of your own home. The course is offered FREE or part-funded (see fee information below) and will improve your understanding of stress. You'll look at the causes of stress and the effects stress can have on health. You'll also learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and look at ways of preventing or reducing stress.

What will we cover?

Our Level 1 Stress Awareness qualification provides an introduction to stress and stress management, providing you with an opportunity to understand what stress is, its causes and how it can affect people in various ways. 

You'll develop an understanding of the different types of stress and how to recognise when people are experiencing stress that could have potentially harmful effects. You'll explore a range of healthy strategies that can be used to prevent and reduce the effects of stress encountered in daily life, and understand when and how to  seek specialist help if a person is experiencing significant levels of stress.

Who is the course for?

The course is for adults (19+) who wish to learn more about stress and gain a formal qualification. It may be for personal interest or to support related employment.

How can I progress after completing the course?

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to the following:

  • Level 1 Award in Alcohol Awareness
  • Level 1 Award in Sexual Health Awareness
  • Level 1 Award in Awareness of Substance Misuse
  • Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness
  • Level 1 Award or Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children and Young People's Settings
  • Level 2 Award in Helping Skills
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Level 2 Award or Certificate in Equality and Diversity
  • Level 2 Award in Volunteering
  • Level 1 or 2 Award in Mentoring
  • Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness 

Course cost

The cost of this course is FREE/£54.00.

1)  Free - if you earn less than £25,000 or are on a means-tested benefit.

2) Payment help available - if you earn more than £25,000 but are on a low-income, we might be able to help pay part or all of your course fees. Email: learning@inspireculture.org.uk for an application form or if you have any questions.

3) Co-funded - if you are on a higher-income, the government will pay approximately half of your course fees.
