About this course

This course is a beginner guide to making roses.  

You will learn skills and techniques using a five-leaf petal cutter, a single rose petal cutter and a rose leaf cutter.  Demonstrations using the Rose cutter FMM 'The Easiest Rose Ever'.  

Learn new skills to make a beautiful rose to top any special occasion or celebration cake. 

During the course, we will cover: 

• How to create a single rose bud 

• How to create a single rose petal  

• How to create a collection of petals to form a full rose 

• How to create a single leaf 

• How to create a five-leaf petal rose 

• How to create a rose using the Rose cutter FMM ‘The Easiest Rose Ever’ 

Learners will have produced a selection of designs to decorate and enhance any celebration cake. Some previous experience will be required to attend the course.

  • Rolling Pin  
  • Corn flour for dusting  
  • Ready to roll icing or modelling paste  
  • Sugar Florist paste  
  • Small palette knife  
  • Circle cutter  
  • Edible glue 
  • Paintbrushes 
  • Edible concentrated colours of choice. 
  • Snowflake or preferred dusting powders and dusting brush

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
