About this course

Join us for this hands-on course and learn how to create your very own interesting pieces of jewellery, using measuring, ratio and design skills. Your tutor will assist with some of the fiddly techniques required to assemble the jewellery pieces.

What will be covered on the course?

During this course, you will identify different materials used in jewellery making, create your own patterns using ratios to plan and design, utilise recycled material to make interesting pieces of jewellery, and experiment with using felt circles to create a rose brooch.

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Measure and make a ratio pattern to create an elasticated bracelet.
  • Make a felt brooch using circles.
  • Create geometric earrings.
  • Assemble a pattern to make a bracelet, using recycled beads, bits and bobs.
  • Design a necklace using a measuring board.

All materials are provided, and you will be able to take home your creations.

What skills or knowledge do learners already need to have to attend the course?

This course is for people who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above) or are not confident in using Maths at that level. You will self-declare this on the enrolment form.

This is an adult only course.

If learners have any broken beads or bits and bobs to re make into new jewellery then please bring them.
