Would you like to try your hand at watercolour? Perhaps you were not sure if you could paint but now have the time to explore as a beginner.
This course will help you build confidence in painting, beginning on a small postcard, you will explore six watercolour techniques, then move on to larger paper. Also, you do not have to be able to draw, as we will use tracing, and squaring up an image, to paint shapes from nature. We will also use angles to create perspective, and rule of three to create a simple landscape composition.
What will be covered on the course?
Session 1: Experimenting with watercolour samples
Session 2: Exploring correct ratio in colour mixing
Session 3: Using shapes and grids to help draw forms,
Session 4: Exploring methods of creating perspective
Session 5: Analysing different shaped brushes to create patterned strokes.
Session 6: Creating watercolours of favourite images, using a combination of these techniques.
No previous knowledge is required, just an interest in painting!
Resources required:
None, but you can bring your own materials if you wish, as well as inspirational images.
