About this course

This course is an advanced guide to decorating cakes with a water lily sugar craft flower. You will learn skills and techniques using a water lily cutter.

To participate on this course, you must have some previous experience or knowledge of how to create flowers using sugar paste. Building upon previous courses, you will learn how to construct a water lily, starting with the centre and branching out to the finishing touches, including how to dust the flower to bring it to life.

Learners should bring:

Dahlia cutters 6 set- tale away smallest and largest using the other 4 cutters.
Squires Petal Paste (Gum paste)
Lotus veiner or multipurpose veiner
Geranium leaf veiner for the water lily leaf
Board
Rolling Pin
Corn flour for dusting
Edible glue
Paintbrushes for glue and dusting
PME Foam cell pad
Modelling tools: dresden tool, ball tool.
Wires 26 and 18 gauge
Daisy plunge cutter
Wire cutters
Scissors
Petal dusting powders of personal choice, examples: Foliage green, moss green, Lemon Yellow, Pink, Peach, Purple.
Cocktail sticks
Florist tape
Tin foil or spoons for formers
PME Glaze to make the water lily leaf look like it is in water. (Optional)
Note pad and pen.
