About this course

This course is an beginners guide to learn about how to model a strawberry and fruit from fondant.   


You will learn skills and techniques to shape the fondant into a strawberry, lemon, orange, apple, peach, pear, grapes, and banana.   


This course is suitable for all, no matter what your experience is.  Each week, we will make a variety of different fruit from fondant icing that can be used to decorate and enhance cakes and muffins.


Resources required:

  • Board 
  • Corn flour 
  • Edible glue or cool boiled water 
  • Knife  
  • Rolling pin  
  • Ball tool  
  • Dresden tool or cocktail stick 
  • Fondant icing with sugar florist paste mixed equal parts or modelling paste. 
  • Brushes 
  • Zest grater.  
  • Cloves 
  • Caraway or fennel seeds 
  • Petit four cases 
  • Colours: Green , yellow, red, orange, peach, purple, brown, Blush dusting powder.  
  • Pale yellow royal icing for the strawberry 
  • Daisy plunge cutter- Calyx 
  • Apron  
  • Something to carry home in 
  • Note pad and pen

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).  As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
