About this course

This course is a beginner’s course designed to introduce learners to cherry blossom sugarcraft flowers. You will produce a cherry blossom display to enhance any special occasion cake with step-by-step instructions.  


Through attending this course, you will learn how to: 

  • Produce the petals for the cherry blossom 
  • Produce the centre for the cherry blossom  
  • Learn how to dust the flower to add dimension  

Some previous experience of sugar craft will be required to attend the course.  


Resources required:

  • Florist sugar paste by squires- white  
  • Cherry blossom cutter  
  • Corn flour dapper  
  • Rolling pin  
  • Board 
  • 22-gauge wire 
  • 26- gauge wire cut into 3.  
  • Foam mat- Foam cell pad.  
  • Multi-purpose veiner 
  • Floral tape 
  • Ball tool  
  • Dresden tool  
  • Tweezer 
  • Scissors 
  • White cotton – 18 wraps around your finger for the centre.  
  • Micro stamens  
  • Craft knife. 
  • Dusting powder: yellow, 2 shades of pink- light medium and dark.   
  • Edible glue  
  • Cocktail stick.  
  • Semolina- fine.  
  • Brushes 
  • Tape. 
  • Note pad and pen.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).  As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
