About this course

Learn how to paint a landscape in a semi-abstract style. With practical advice on colour mixing, techniques and exploring composition ideas, learners can develop the necessary skills to approach a painting using mark-making to achieve exciting and vibrant colours.

Your will be guided step-by-step to build your skills and confidence, focusing on subjects like composition and mark-making using rhythm, repetition and intuition:

- Selecting appropriate photo references

- Analysing examples of semi-abstract landscape painting in the work of different artists

- Using different tools to create mark-making

- Depth and perspective

- Complete a landscape painting in the semi-abstract style

- Varnishing

A4 canvases

inks (acrylic inks)

charcoal

The art materials are to be discussed during the first session of the course when the tutor will cover the topic.
