Have you always wanted to try making a sculpture but don’t know where to start? Sculpture for beginners is a course that will introduce you to confidently creating small scale sculptures. You will be introduced to a variety of materials that sculptors use to create their work. Using air dry clay you will then create your own small scale sculpture(s) based on the work by famous sculptors Barbara Hepworth (1903 – 1975) and Henry Moore (1898 – 1986).
Over the length of the course, you will learn about the sculptures that Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore created and the variety of materials and tools they used. You will also learn how to successfully design and develop ideas to make your own small scale sculptures using air dry clay and the appropriate tools.
By the end of the course, you will:
Resources required:
A basic sketchbook/notepad or paper to draw onto, a pen, pencil, rubber, sharpener, clay tools (Amazon sell packs of tools from as little as £5.99) 2 packs of air dry clay (any colour is fine 1000g) or you may want to bring more for a bigger sculpture!
