About this course

Unleash your inner artist as you create stunning contemporary portraits, capturing the essence and personality of your subjects. This course shows you how working quickly and pushing false colours can add impact to a portrait. You will be taught the spontaneity of mark and an instinctive approach to colour and tone to achieve an expressive portraiture painting in acrylic. Join us for a fun and inspiring journey into the world of contemporary portrait painting.

No prior experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity, and let’s start painting!

Learn the foundational techniques of acrylic painting, from mixing colours to applying energetic brush strokes:

  • Analysing examples of portraiture painting in the work of different artists
  • Using different tools to create mark-making
