About this course

This course is designed for adults who already have some knowledge of the Polish language through regular visits to Poland, self-study or interacting with Polish speakers, and who want to learn useful words and phrases through conversations and discussions that will help them to communicate with other Polish speakers in everyday life. 

The course will focus on a different area of speaking and listening in various social situations each week, for 4 weeks. Topics covered will include meeting new people, shopping, talking about likes and dislikes, hobbies and work. Some reading will also be covered.

 

By the end of the course, you will:

  • have had the opportunity to learn and practise Polish used in everyday life, including common phrases related to meeting new people, food, emotions, work, hobbies. 

  • have had opportunities to improve your confidence in using Polish skills (listening, speaking and reading) which will help you communicate with people in everyday contexts.

  • have had the opportunity to practise your listening skills through listening to the tutor, other learners and a variety of audio recordings in everyday contexts.

  • have had the opportunity to present your views and opinions on a variety of everyday topics 


Learners should bring:

  • Pen and paper for taking notes
  • Access to a Polish dictionary (digital or paper)

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
