About this course

Whether you are a beginner eager to explore your artistic potential or an experienced painter looking to refine your techniques, this course will provide you with the skills and inspiration needed to create stunning sky scenes in acrylics. Join us in "Painting the Sky" and embark on a creative journey where the sky is not the limit, but the beginning of endless artistic possibilities. Let your imagination soar and your brushes fly as you capture the ever-changing beauty of the sky on canvas..

Explore the different elements that make up the sky, such as clouds, sunsets, and the subtle variations in light and colour, focusing on subjects like colour mixing, painting techniques and composition:

  • Analysing examples of sky paintings and different styles
  • Colour mixing and composition studies
  • Surface preparation and sketching
  • Painting techniques: layering, impasto, the dry brush
  • Complete a  painting on canvas
  • Protect your painting by varnishing it

Learners will create their own sky-themed artworks under expert guidance. By the end of the course learners will complete at least one work on canvas. They will have fun by experimenting with techniques and tools and become more confident in using acrylics.

Learners should bring:
