About this course

Unleash your creativity and find inner peace with our Painting and Mindfulness for Beginners course. Designed for those new to both painting and mindfulness, the course offers a unique blend of artistic expression and meditative practices. 

Over a series of engaging, hands-on sessions, you will learn foundational painting techniques while also exploring mindfulness exercises to help you stay present and relaxed. 

No prior experience is needed – just bring your curiosity and an open mind. Join us to create beautiful artwork and cultivate a sense of calm and well being. 

  • Cultivate a mindfulness practice that supports their overall well-being and creativity
  • Basic concepts of mindfulness 
  • Combining mindfulness and art to enhance creativity 
  • Reflecting on personal growth through art and mindfulness 
  • How to express emotions through art 
  • Using nature and personal experiences an inspiration 
  • Basic painting techniques and mindful sketching 
  • Displaying and discussing completed works 

By the end of this course, you will have created a painting that reflect your unique artistic voice and a newfound confidence in your ability to create a painting with a contemporary flair. Learners will complete at least one work on canvas.

Resources required:

  • Acrylic paper/sketch pad, A4 canvas, white gesso, a range of synthetic paint brushes, photo reference, metallic palette knife, watercolour or acrylic paint (student grade) 
  • Red (Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red,  
  • Yellow (Lemon and Cadmiun Yellow),  
  • Blue (Ultramarine, and Cerulean),  
  • Magenta , Turquoise, Titanium white 

The art materials are to be discussed during the first session of the course when the tutor will cover the topic.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).  As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
