Paediatric First Aid - West Bridgford Library - Adult Learning

About this course

This 2-day course will meet the Ofsted requirements for working in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).  Learners will gain knowledge and develop skills to manage emergency situations in a paediatric setting. 

By the end of the course, learners will be able to assess and manage a baby or child who is: 

• Responsive/Non-responsive [Conduct a Primary Survey (DRABC)] 
• Choking 
• Bleeding  

Identification and Treatment of: shock, internal bleeding, burns, fainting, poisoning, head and minor injuries: hypothermia or heat exhaustion; injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries); seizures; meningitis, asthma; anaphylaxis and diabetes.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
