This course aims to introduce you to a variety of habitats within Sherwood, highlighting plant and animal species associated with sites, and management issues and objectives.
You will also improve your health and well-being through the undertaking of short (2 - 4 miles), local walks.
This course is programmed as part of the Greenwood Community Forest Project.
Sherwood Forest is Internationally renowned for its collection of Ancient oak trees and their associated wildlife. It is the only National Nature Reserve in Nottinghamshire.
It is also steeped in folk history. Have you heard of Robin Hood?
You will improve your environmental knowledge of local sites of interest around the Sherwood Forest area and what makes these sites special.
This course will also help to improve your own mental and physical health and develop social skills by interacting with others on the course.
By the end of the course, you will:
• Be able to name 2 of the habitats associated with Sherwood Forest,
• Be able to name 2 of the plant species associated with Sherwood Forest,
• Be able to name 2 of the animal species associated with Sherwood Forest,
• Have improved mental and physical health and well-being,
• Have improved communication skills.
This course runs once a month, on the following dates:

Please wear stout walking footwear, a waterproof coat and bring a drink.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
