This course is designed for anyone who cares for children aged 0-3 years to come and learn simple BSL signs which can help their little one communicate. The signs will be directly taught, then practiced through songs and nursery rhymes.
New signs will be taught each week and will be around a theme, such as ‘food’
Signs will be repeated and reinforced each week
No previous experience is necessary.
We will begin by explaining the benefits of baby signing and how babies can sign before they can talk.
We will share a variety of different songs and nursery rhymes and sign some key words in each session.
Practical resources, such as musical instruments and a parachute will be used in some sessions.
There will also be a comfort break in each session, where parents can chat and babies can interact with each other, social skills are promoted too!
Learners should bring a notebook and pen to make notes.
