Join us at St Mark's Church's church hall (garden room) in Woodthorpe where each week you’ll learn different art techniques using a variety of mediums to create a mixed media altered collaged book/journal on the theme of ‘self’. We shall be exploring ways in which to express yourself creatively, building your confidence in drawing, mark making and collage.
Over the duration of five weeks, you will be shown how to use a variety of mediums with different art and mixed media techniques. You will be repurposing an old book and turning it into your own art book/journal of texture, colour and imagery, that tells a story about you and who you are. You will become confident with experimenting in collage, mark making and drawing.
By the end of the course, you will:
- be able to demonstrate a range of mixed media techniques.
- be able to demonstrate the use of different mediums.
- have expressed yourself creatively.
- Have a raised awareness of the positive benefits of art and expression for mental health and wellbeing.
- have a range of materials to use in your own craft projects, such as collage making, scrapbooking, journalling and card making
- plan your next steps as an artist including finding new opportunities to practice and develop your skills.
