About this course

Macramé is a relaxing and therapeutic craft; it keeps your hands busy and gives your mind time to rest.  Through attending this course, you will learn the basic knots needed to get started with macramé and by the end of the course you be able to complete your own project.  There is no previous experience necessary to complete this course, just a desire to have a try.

You receive a list of materials once you book the course; cord will depend on the final project; but parcel string is good to practice and learn with.

This course will let you identify different macrame cords and tie a variety of knots such as the Larks Head, Square Knot, Half Knot, Gathering Knot, Overhand Knot and the Double Half-Hitch Knot to complete several small projects.  You will gain an understanding of how to calculate the amount of cord required for a project and analyse the benefits of creative activities to improve mental health.

Within the course learners will gain an understanding of;

  • Macrame equipment
  • Macrame knots

None of the items are essential but the ones with (*)= recommend to get the best of the course
