About this course

  • Want to learn how to take photos on your smartphone?
  • Fed-up of staring at a tiny smartphone screen?
  • Always missing calls because you cannot hear your mobile?

This face-to-face 3-week course will cover the basics of smartphone functions and settings. It is aimed at people new to smartphones who just want to know a little more about their smartphone and how to set the phone up for their personal use.


Course Content

  • connecting to wi-fi
  • taking photos
  • adjusting in-call volume / ringtone
  • enlarging screen icon sizes (magnification)

By the end of this course, you will be able to connect to wi-fi, adjust basic phone settings and take photographs.

Who is it suitable for?

  • This is a beginner’s course for Learners +19 who are new to smartphones and want to learn more about the device’s functions.

Learners will need to bring their own smartphone so they can adjust and learn how to use their smartphone functions.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
