ReNew is for residents of Newark and Sherwood. If you are currently not in employment and not able to actively look for work then this is a free course to give you the chance to learn a new skill in our friendly, informal ReNew classes at Newark Buttermarket.
An Introduction to hand reflexology is ideal for anyone who has an interest in reflexology and wants to learn more about this ancient holistic therapy. No previous experience is needed, and you will be able to use the techniques you learn on family and friends.
Reflexology, sometimes referred to as “zone therapy,” involves the application of pressure to “reflex” points on the feet, hands, and ears. Reflexologists believe these points are directly connected to glands, organs, and systems of the body. When reflex points are stimulated, then, their corresponding bodily parts get receive the benefit, which aids the body in healing itself by helping to clear any channels of blocked energy, increasing circulation, boosting the immune system and clearing the body of toxins to improve overall health and balance.
Please bring:
Towels x 2
Massage cream or oil
Alcohol sanitizer
Cotton Pads
Important: please ensure your thumb nail and index fingernail are short for hygiene reasons and so you can practice the techniques without causing discomfort. Avoid nail varnish and rings/bracelets. Ensure your sleeves can be rolled up to expose the forearm.
These courses are provided by Inspire Learning via the UKSPF project and you will be asked to complete a Newark & Sherwood District Council enrolment form at the sessions.
