About this course

The First Aid at Work (FAW) course runs for 3 days and will provide first aiders with the essential knowledge and skills needed to respond to emergency situations in the workplace.  This course will meet the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive - First Aid Regulations (1981). 


By the end of the course, learners will be able to assess and manage a casualty who is: 

  • Responsive/Non-responsive [Conduct a Primary Survey (DRABC)] 
  • Choking 
  • Bleeding  
  • Identification and Treatment of: shock, internal bleeding, burns, fainting, poisoning, head injuries; hypothermia or heat exhaustion; injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries); seizures; heart attack; stroke; asthma; anaphylaxis; diabetes and other minor injuries. 

Please bring:

  • A pen and paper.

  • Tuesday 26th November

  • Wednesday 4th December

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
