About this course

This course is designed to help you thoroughly prepare for different types of interviews. It will include role play practice in answering a range of common interview questions including how to best answer competency questions and the opportunity to devise appropriate questions to ask at interview. There will also be an opportunity for you to create and share a short presentation in order to build confidence in expressing ideas.

This course will introduce you to a range of job sites on which you can filter and identify jobs that you may like to apply for, either now or in the future. It will also allow you to reflect on your own strengths and weaknesses to identify jobs that would be a good match for your skill set and personal qualities.

You will be introduced to a range of common interview questions, including competency questions, and will be given the opportunity to devise your own answers using the STAR technique.

To build confidence, employment related vocabulary will be checked and there will be opportunity for interview role play – checking presentation, body language and intonation.

You will also be encouraged to use a range of adverbial phrases to deliver a short presentation explaining the pros and cons of a chosen subject. This will also include a degree of research to consolidate the importance of and difference between fact and opinion.
