About this course

This course will equip you with the skills needed to get back into the workplace. 


Session 1: Getting to work 

In this session you will cover how to read bus timetables, look at the 24H clock and duration and direct you to useful transport apps and money saving tickets. 


Session 2: applying for a job 

This session will look at online forms, different numerical data formats (DOB, dates) and how to list previous employment chronologically. 


Session 3: budgeting 

This session will cover the cost of getting to work and being at work eg. transport costs, childcare, lunch etc., direct you to useful apps to help with budgeting and help you to understand your wage slip. 


This course is for people who don’t have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE C/4 or above). You will self-declare this on the enrolment form. 


You will need:

  • Pen, paper and a smartphone

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete the EVENTBRITE BOOKING.
  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

You should be redirected to the Inspire Online Enrolment Form after completing the Eventbrite booking.  If you are not redirected, please use the link supplied in the Eventbrite booking confirmation email.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
