About this course

This course is an opportunity for you to try out your ideas for writing a short story/ potential novel, using writing exercises, examining published work and culminating in writing an extended piece of writing.

Throughout this course we will look at published work and analyse the writing.  We will take part in various written exercises to practice different writing styles and consider appropriate content and vocabulary, enabling you to discuss individual ideas.  You will practice writing through various exercises and be given feedback to improve.  By the end of the course, you will plan and create an extended piece of writing.

To participate in this course, you will need some writing experience and an interest in reading and writing.
