About this course

Using memories, images, published work and discussion, learners will complete writing tasks, culminating in creating an extended piece of writing using the seaside as a stimulus. 


What will be covered on the course?  

  • Description including use of figurative language and sensory imagery 
  • Reminiscence writing 
  • Structuring a narrative 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?  

  • Recall technical terms 
  • Demonstrate understanding by taking part in the discussion of the themes of the session 
  • To apply ideas through short writing tasks 
  • To analyse the effectiveness of others’ work 
  • To evaluate own participation in the session 
  • To create an extended piece of writing based around the seaside

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
