Creative Writing - Investigating Genres - Online Course - Adult Learning - 09:30-11:30

About this course

On this course, we will explore different genres of writing through examining published work and taking part in writing exercises.  This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in reading and writing, no previous knowledge is required. 

Throughout the course, we will look at different genres of writing such as science fiction, the Wild West, mystery, fantasy, coming-of-age and historical work.  We will look at key writing terms and create individual pieces of extended writing. 

Resources required:

Paper and pen or laptop to write on 

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).  As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
