About this course

During this course, we will explore atmospheric stories told around a fire, looking at the origins and development, and create our own fireside stories.  We will look at different genres of writing (including traditional fairy tales and ghost and horror writing) and analyse how tension is created and maintained.

By the end of the course, you will be able:

- To recall information about the origins of traditional stories

- To discuss key ideas/ concepts

- To demonstrate learning through short exercises

- To criticise published work / identify techniques

- To evaluate peers’ work and offer feedback

- To create a piece of writing, appropriate for reading out around a fire
