About this course

On this course you will learn about and explore the process of using Gel Plates as a printing tool. You will learn how to use hand carved blocks from India and stencils as we expand your skills on creative printing, which can be on paper or fabric.   

By the end of the course, you will learn a variety of ways to produce surface designs, paper or fabrics which can be used in many other projects such as journal/book making, card making or patchwork.   

What will be covered on the course?  

  • Be able to identity patterns by repeating units; symmetry, rotation, reflection, tessellation of shapes.   
  • Look at ideas of using waste paint 
  • Also look at layering methods for designs 
  • Develop techniques of masking, using stencils and reverse printing 
  • Look at benefits of creative activities for mental health 

What will learners achieve by the end of the course?  

  • Gain understanding equipment; - gel plate 
  • Know how to print with wooden blocks 
  • Knowledge of Pattern theory & Formation 
  • How to create depth to printed surface

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.
