About this course

This is a course for adults who would like to learn basic computer programming using the Python 3.0 language. It is aimed at total beginners to coding – no previous experience is required 


What will be covered on the course?   

  • Learning to display text on screen. 
  • Adding user-input data to your code 
  • Decisions that control the code 
  • Looping – repeating actions 
  • Using variables to store and retrieve data 
  • Understand the use of functions, objects and classes. 


What will learners achieve by the end of the course? 

Learners will learn key principles of coding. They will understand how to plan and write short, simple programs in Python 3.0 


Learners should be able to use a computer, mouse/trackpad and keyboard. 


Learners will need access to a laptop or desktop computer with at least a microphone (headset or built-in). A webcam is preferable.

  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
