About this course

In this course, you will learn how to manipulate the air-dry clay to create unique, hand-made pieces and decorate them. Air dry clay is similar to traditional clay but doesn't require a kiln to harden. The course is suitable for beginners or improvers.

This course focuses on the technique of hand rolling, coiling, stamping, and sculpting clay. :

  • Analysing examples of air-dry clay modelling in the work of different artists
  • Using different tools to create mark-making.
  • Understand the properties of the clay
  • Build by hand different objects
  • Prepare the surface to receive the decoration
  • Decorate your objects and varnish them

By the end of the course learners will complete at least one work in air dry clay. They will have fun by experimenting with different tools and become more confident at modelling.
