This course is for those learners who have completed the Inspire Calligraphy for Beginners Course. You will build on skills gained in Calligraphy for Beginners and apply these to learn two new hands: Uncial and Gothic. This course is for learners wishing to improve and develop their calligraphy skills. Having learnt the basics of Foundational hand, this course will focus on the more rounded 'hand' of Uncial and the more angular Gothic script.
We use the Staedtler Calligraphy Markers (and not dip ink pens) which are easy to use for either right or left handed writers. You’ll learn how to hold the pen to get the nib angle correct and basic exercises to help you achieve the thick and thin strokes. The Uncial script is rounded and an ideal next step from Foundational. The Gothic is angular. There’s plenty of individual demonstration and feedback from your tutor as well as worksheets to help you.
By the end of the course, you will:
Build on and enhance your knowledge in calligraphy by learning to draw two new scripts to use for cards, projects, journaling, etc.
