About this course

It has never been more important to try and make sense of Britain’s unwritten constitution and to understand the role of the Monarch, the Government, Parliament, the courts and most importantly the role of the British people.

This course will explore the role of Parliament and Government from its early beginnings through to the present day. It will follow the journey of political ideas from its inception through to its implementation and will explore how we as citizens might be able to influence the very laws that impact on all our lives.

By the end of the course, you will understand how the different strands of the United Kingdom government work and how they interact with each other. You will understand the roles of the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government and what local administrations have. You will also gain an awareness of the role they can play in the affairs of the nation and how they can help influence policy.

As this course is online, a suitable device such as laptop, smart phone, tablet or computer will be required to access the course.  The link for you to join the live sessions will be sent to you once your enrolment has been completed.
