Blogging for Beginners - Online Course - Adult Learning - 10:30-12:00

About this course

Are you interested in blogging? Perhaps you’d like to set up your own blog but don’t know where to start? This course will take you through the basics, from choosing the right topic and title to writing an engaging post. We’ll also look at some of the different platforms, and tackle the basic technical issues of setting up and designing a blog from an idea to a reality. 

We will cover the benefits of having a blog and consider how to choose the right name and subject matter, selecting a platform or web host; and look at the differences between a free and paid-for blog. The course will also cover the basics of setting up and designing a blog and provide lots of useful resources to get your new blog online and available to the world. 

 By the end of the course, you will: 

• You will write a blog post. 
• You will be able to state different benefits of having a blog. 
• You will be able to list three elements of a great blog post. 
• You will be able to list two benefits and negatives of both free and paid-for blogs. 
• You will be able to discuss three ways that a blog can attract visitors. 
• You will have had a chance to create a blog.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

• Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).

As we no longer receive funding for our ESFA-funded courses for learners living in the devolved areas listed below, full cost fees would apply to these courses if you live in these areas:
