About this course

 Join us for a FREE, short, 2 hour taster session, Introduction to Baking – An introduction, at Inspire’s new  Learning Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield. 

Working from our brand-new professional kitchens at Inspire Learning Centre, High Pavement, Sutton-in-Ashfield, you will learn how to create a batch of delicious butterfly buns, filled with raspberry jam and buttercream. 


Please note, these cakes will contain gluten, diary and egg, so are not suitable for consumption by vegans or anyone with an  ingredient allergy.  


By the end of the session, you will: 

  • Know the difference between 2 types of methods for making cake batter. 
  • Understand the best temperature for baking cakes. 
  • Know the method for making delicious buttercream.
  • Ingredients will be provided. 


Please tie back long hair, bring an apron, wear sensible shoes (no flip flops please) and bring something to take your baking home in.

To secure your place on the course BOTH the following must be done:

  • Complete our INSPIRE ONLINE ENROLMENT FORM for each person attending the course.

To book and enrol on one of our courses, you must have been living in England and have been resident in the UK for the past 3 years.

Some exceptions may apply if you are living in England with evidence of the right to remain and are from an EEU/EEAU country (completion of a questionnaire will be required).
