Have you ever fancied being an artist, or maybe it was once a passion that needs reviving?
On this course we will explore animals' role within art, linking this with the local wildlife and art of Nottinghamshire. You will learn about artists such as Emma Wilmott and George Stubbs, and investigate how birds, insects, horses and dogs are represented in art. You will develop your own artwork, exploring sketching, mark making and colour. You will learn how to produce a sketchbook/portfolio, and how to develop your artistic skills for future goals.
By the end of the course, you will have achieved drawing a range of animals and will have created your own art piece. You will have spent time enhancing your wellbeing and met others who are interested in art.
What will be covered on the course?
Week 1- Insects- Mark making focus.
Week 2-Birds – Colour and shading focus.
Week 3-Horses
Week 4- Dogs
Week 5- Other British Wildlife
Week 6- Own Project
Each week you will have a piece of optional homework and complete and submit comments on an independent learning journal.
At the end of the course, you can request a Certificate of Attendance.
