InspiRead 2025

Thanks to the support of Arts Council England, our InspiREAD book award has secured funding until 2026!

Taking part in InspiREAD is great way to encourage children to read for pleasure, and to include parents, grandparents, carers, teachers, and anyone who enjoys a good read to get involved.

Our spring longlist was chosen by the ELS librarians, who picked their favourite children's books that have been published in the last year.

With this year’s book award just around the corner, why wait? Dive into our Longlist now and start reading with your class before voting opens this Spring!

On 6 May, we’ll reveal our final shortlist featuring 12 outstanding titles across 3 categories including Picture Books, Shorter Books and Longer Books.

Don't forget, teachers can borrow books from the Education Library Service or if you're a member of the public, you can visit your local library in Nottinghamshire or beyond! If you'd like to purchase any of the books, The Bookcase in Lowdham is offering 20% discount on all titles for everyone. Additionally, Wonderland Bookshop in Retford is providing a 20% discount specifically for schools.

Want to get involved? ELS member schools can request the shortlisted books, along with posters and bookmarks, to take part in the excitement this spring.
