InspiRead

InspiRead began during the first Covid-19 lockdown as a virtual primary book award. It now runs annually during the summer term. It is a great way to help you develop your reading community, encouraging children to read for pleasure, and to include parents, grandparents, carers, teachers, and anyone who enjoys a good read to get involved.

The shortlist is chosen by the ELS librarians and is suitable for all ages. There are three categories:

  •        Picture books
  •        Shorter books
  •        Longer novels

Our librarians pick their favourite children's books that have been published within the last year - then it's over to you, to read and vote for your favourites.

Readers can vote in one, two or all three categories, and there will be a final winner in each of the categories.

Don't forget, teachers can borrow books from the Education Library Service or if you're a member of the public, you can visit your local library in Nottinghamshire or beyond! If you'd like to purchase any of the books, The Bookcase in Lowdham is offering 20% discount on all titles for everyone. Additionally, Wonderland Bookshop in Retford is providing a 20% discount specifically for schools.

Funded by Arts Council England, Nottinghamshire County Council and Arc Partnership.
