Library service updates

In November 2024, our libraries migrated to a new system for managing stock and customer data. Read on for the latest updates and developments regarding your experience in libraries and using our new online catalogue.

Customer email notifications

We are currently experiencing issues with email notifications sending to a number of email providers, including Yahoo and BT Internet. We are working on resolving this with our suppliers. If you think this is affecting you, we can set up free text notifications as an alternative in the meantime. Please speak to a member of library staff or Ask Inspire to do this.

Renewal Message Display

Our system doesn’t allow you to renew the same item more than once to stop you using up a renewal without changing the due date. If you did try to do this, the message "cannot be renewed" will display. You would be able to renew again from the next day onwards. 

Loan history unavailable

Loan history before November 2024 is currently unavailable. Our suppliers are working hard to resolve this, however we do not currently have a fixed date. 

Stock suggestions

We're unable to accept stock suggestions for the time being. Our online suggestion form will be accessible on our new library catalogue once this service is available again.
