Library service updates

In November 2024, our libraries migrated to a new system for managing stock and customer data. Read on for the latest updates and developments regarding your experience in libraries and using our new online catalogue.

See demonstrations of how to log in, renew and reserve at the bottom of this page.

While our system is available for use and can carry out tasks such as renewing and reserving items, we are still making changes and ensuring it runs as smoothly as possible. Our IT team are looking into this as a matter of priority. Thank you for your patience whilst we make our new system the best it can be for our customers

Missing reservations

We are aware that some items that were reserved before our migration are no longer showing on customer's online accounts. This is due to a change in how our 'on order' items are processed, which we hope to improve in the coming weeks. If you are impacted by this, please be assured that your item is still reserved (and you will remain in the position you were before the migration). Once the item has been processed on our end, your reservation should be visible on your account screen.

Overdue notifications

We are currently experiencing issues with email notifications sending to a number of email providers, including Yahoo and BT Internet. We are working on resolving this with our suppliers.

Nottingham City users

Currently, those registered at Nottingham City libraries are unable to log in to the Inspire catalogue, and vice versa. Our supplier has been working on a fix for this and the matter will be resolved imminently.

Loan history unavailable

We are aware that loan history is currently not available for some users. These files are with our suppliers and are being loaded into our new system gradually.

New stock in libraries

We will temporarily be unable to order new stock while we are linking our ordering system with our new library management system.  We will aim to get popular recent releases onto our library shelves as soon as possible.

Stock suggestions

We're unable to accept stock suggestions for the time being. Our online suggestion form will be accessible on our new library catalogue once this service is available again.
