Visitors to West Bridgford Library on Thursday 25 July will be able to join in with free taster sessions of courses, knitting challenges, and meet members of the Inspire team.
The library, delivered by Inspire on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, will be hosting the celebration from 12pm until 2pm. The Open Day will not only showcase the fantastic library service offer, but will also celebrate Inspire’s volunteering programme, Community Makers, and their high-quality Adult Learning courses.
Visitors will be able to meet Inspire’s Volunteer Officer to find out more about volunteering in a range of different ways, join Inspire’s yearly knitting challenge, and even have the chance to take part in some free taster activities.
Activities will include:
- Taster session with Digital Skills and Psychology tutors
- Olympic themed family activities and games with Multiply
- International Learning Room – speak to English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tutors, and learners from an Inspire Learning Italian course
- Knit-along for Inspire’s ‘Care Squares’ Knitting Challenge
Visitors can also find out more about Inspire Learning’s summer programme, and for those who are not yet a library member, there’s the chance to sign up and join their local library for free. The day will also include free hot drinks and refreshments, and a chance to tell the Inspire team about the courses you would like to see in Rushcliffe.
No booking is required for the event – visitors can drop in between 12pm and 2pm and join in.
