Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library and Learning Centre

Kirkby library and learning centre front of building

A warm welcome to Kirkby-in-Ashfield Library and Learning Centre, where the shelves are full and the staff are friendly and always willing to help!

There’s something for everyone here at Kirkby. If you’ve got little ones then come and join our Rhyme, Rattle and Roll sessions on Monday and Friday mornings at 10.30am, we love a good singsong! Or, if your kids are a little older then check out our Little Bookworms and Junior Bookworms sessions which take place each month.

If you’re looking to take some ‘you’ time and relax, we have a drop-in jigsaw which is available during opening hours. Sit for hours or just put 1 piece in the choice is yours. We also host our Places of Welcome coffee morning every Wednesday from 10am where you can sit and relax with everything being provided for you.

We also have book groups if you’re looking to meet like-minded readers, our Kirkby Crime Readers Group meets on the last Friday of the month from 11-12pm and our Reading Group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 2-3pm.

Kirkby Library and Learning Centre also has 8 public PCs and free Wi-Fi which you can use with your membership card, and select PCs offer access to photoshop and specialist animation software. If you’re not comfortable with using PCs or need guidance with our software, we have Learning Courses which can help you gain confidence. If you’re looking to learn a new language or learn a new hobby we also have courses for you! Kirkby Library and Learning Centre also hosts a fortnightly Craft and Chatter Group which takes place on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month between 10-12pm.

If you're interested in finding out more about local heritage, you can use our local studies collection with a range of material relating to Kirkby-in-Ashfield and the surrounding area.

Don’t forget we have a Facebook page @InspireKirkbyLibraryandLearningCentre where you can stay updated on our latest news, events, stock and behind the scenes library fun!

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
