Arnold Library

Arnold

Welcome to Arnold Library - you’ll find us in the centre of Arnold on the end of Front Street. Come in and you’ll find an airy and spacious library with friendly and helpful staff.

We are well stocked with a range of books to suit everybody’s needs from children’s fiction and manga to adult crime and travel. Our local studies section is packed with literature, photographs and maps and for our budding local historians we a have great local heritage section, too.

But we don’t just do books, we have 12 brand new free-to-use public PC’s for children and adults, photocopying, printing and scanning facilities, free Wi-Fi for library members and study areas for when you want to work away from home for a change! Or, feel free to kick back and relax in our café area with a coffee from the machine. If you are into art then the Gallery is the place for you, we have a dedicated space for local exhibitions of art and culture that change regularly, so there is always a feast for the eyes.

We also have regular events that run throughout the year that are open to everybody. Our Open Reading Group meets on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month, crafters have an opportunity to Knit and Natter weekly on Monday afternoons and the Reading Café meets every week on Wednesday mornings. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available at these events for a small charge, but the chat and friendship are free. We are now holding a regular Places of Welcome on Friday mornings, where you get to meet new people, have a complimentary cuppa and relax. Everybody is welcome! For our littlest customers we have twice weekly Rhyme, Rattle and Roll sessions where we get together and sing some well-known nursery rhymes with our grown-ups.

There are three bookable meeting rooms where we host various events and courses, check them out on our What’s On section above. You’ll find a range of adult and family learning courses with Inspire Learning where you can learn a new skill, entertain the little ones, or try out a new hobby with our highly trained and skilled tutors.

Don’t forget to like us on Facebook @InspireArnoldLibrary for all the up-to-date news, events and gossip from all of us here at Arnold Library!
