In 1948 the Empire Windrush docked in Tilbury carrying over 1000 passengers from the Caribbean to a new life in the UK.
As part of a National Lottery Heritage fund project, local Nottingham charity Always Community interviewed over 50 members of the Windrush generation. This exciting project asked a simple question – Why did the interviewee make their Windrush Decision?
We've been lucky enough to have the pleasure of interviewing Rosetta Burrel. Deputy National Superintendent for the Pilgrim Church and a skilled administrator, Reverend Rose came to the UK in the 1960's. Reverend Rose has served as part of the national ministerial team, church council and board of trustees for over 15 years. She enjoys cake baking and is an 'outstanding' wedding cake maker.
