We've got fun events and activities for all the family in the warm welcome of your local library this May half-term! Enjoy a variety of craft sessions, author visits and more.

Unless otherwise stated, events are suitable for all under 11sfree of charge with no booking required. Find out what's on at your local library below!

Pokémon Card Swap Wednesday 29 May, 1:30pm - 3:30pm Bring your cards to swap with other players! Build up your desk or complete a set. Under 12's to be accompanied by an adult.

Minibeast Finger Puppets Thursday 30, Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June during normal opening hours (whole stocks last)
Burton Joyce Make a crafty snail Friday 31 May, 10:30am - 12:30pm Make a very well behaved snail to take home - this crafty snail won't eat up your garden!
Eastwood Relaxed film screening: Wonka Thursday 30 May, 10am Immerse yourself in a world of pure imagination and leave with a smile on your face. Suitable for all but particularly neurodiverse families. £1 per ticket, booking advised.

Edwinstowe Delightful dogs Friday 31 May, 10am - 12pm Enjoy some dog-inspired crafts to take away with you!
Forest Town Robot cupcakes Thursday 30 May, 3pm - 4pm Make your robot cupcake using a range of shapes! Adult supervision required, materials provided. Booking required, contact the library for info.
Our library's 60th birthday celebration! Thursday 30 May, 10:30am - 4:30pm Join us for a day of celebration! We welcome you for tea, cake and a quiz as we turn 60 years old. Take a look back in time, reminisce and meet friends new and old. Includes plenty of activities for children too.
Huthwaite Finger Skateboard Craft Thursday 30 May Design your own skateboard and show off your cool fingerboarding tricks!
Kirkby in Ashfield Sunflower Planting and playing Wednesday 29 May, 1pm - 3pm and Thursday 30 May, 10am - 12pm Bring back your sunflower seedlings from Easter and plant them in our library garden! Maybe you could win a prize for the tallest or widest sunflower in our garden... Don't worry if you didn't start a seedling, there's tons of giant games and crafts available too!
Ladybrook Elmer Mask Craft Thursday 30 May, 11am - 12pm Celebrate 35 years of Elmer with us by making your own Elmer mask! Free of charge - no booking requiired!
Mansfield Drum and Dance! A Taster Session of Rhythm and Expression Saturday 1 June, 10.30am Join Community Arts Practitioners Janet and Jude for a taster of good mood-boosting fun through drumming and dance. Just drop in between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Mansfield Woodhouse Snazzy Snails Tuesday 28 May, 10am - 4pm Come and make a snail best friend! Decorate their shell with shapes and colours.
Mapperley Half-term crafts Tuesday 28 May, 10:30am - 12pm All welcome!
Skegby and Stanton Hill Elmer Badge Making Saturday 25 May, 9:30am - 11am and Friday 31 May, 2pm - 3:30pm It's Elmer day! Elmer is celebrating its 35th birthday, so pop down and make a birthday badge to celebrate.
